Back to Business… Almost

I’m sitting here trying hard to concentrate on means and ways to dust off my so called block and write a decent sized essay. It took me an effort to even start writing.

And this is what I came up with.

In my experience, insufficient it might be, I have found out that when one has nothing to say it is the best recourse to take refuge under the excesses of numbers and statistics. So, here is the breakdown of my (mis)fortune that I’m trying to disguise as a literary and creative exercise.

8My blog has been stagnant since 13th of April. That’s exactly a 104-day draught. This is especially significant because I have never even updated my blog so many times in 3 years. A count tells me that right from January 2013 till the 13th of April 2015 my post count is 105.

And I’ve had a 108-day draught.

2013 was a good year. With 52 posts, it was my best year at Ho-Hum.

2015 had been a good year until the block hit me. 11 posts in 4 months isn’t really brag worthy but it kept the fire kindled and the words, not smooth, but readily available!

I’ll feel terrible if I compared my performance with last year. 2014, that is.

So let us.

The first 4 months saw a total 16 posts and the remainder of the year saw another 26 making it a total of 42. 10 posts lesser than 2013. The period ended April 2013 wasn’t all that great to be honest. Only 13. And April was full of NOTHING. Nada.  So, you see, I had 16 posts by April 2014 and only 13 by April 2013. But by the end of the year I had 42 and 52 respectively!

Even if I try and keep up to the level of 2014, I’m going to need another 31 posts (including this one) in 5 months. With an average of 6.2 posts a month, it is very much possible.

This post will only swell my count. If I post this before July ends my average comes down by 0.2 per month. Good odds, eh?

Heck yeah!
