Writing Lines

I was sitting here, at my
Breakfast table

And waiting for some instance that
Awoke within me the will to write;
Some signal from above
To help me pen my
First word for the day.

I wrote a little bit
Of random things,
To flex those parts
That help to elucidate,
To think and to imagine.

I don’t think it helped

What is that I always told
Fellow writers?
Ah, yes. Although, I
Should warn you that
It’s not my own advice.
I probably read it somewhere.

I always told that the biggest
Impediment to writing was
Writing itself.

I felt a thrill of joy every time
I told them; another thrill pulsed
Through me when they asked
What was it that I meant by it.

Although, it was a simple
Compound statement, with
No metaphorical value
Or literary twists,
They almost always asked.

And I told them this:
To write every day, one
Must learn the discipline
Of Doing Writing;
One must learn to create
Imageries out of a slab of

And today, I did just that.

I was sitting here, at my
Breakfast table

And waiting for some instant that
Awoke within me the will to write;
Some signal from above
To help me pen my
First word for the day.

And I glanced at the raging river
That raced to some
Unforeseen finish line
And my imagination

I had only to look
And I saw humility and
Persistence; I saw
Strength and Bravery.

From a rock!

I now sit here, at my breakfast table
And wait no more
For some instance that would
Awake within me the will to write!
A signal from above
Has had me pen my
First word for the day.
